It's time for holiday festivities and time to get the Christmas decorations out! Or, is it? Does festive Christmas decorating overpower your home the week of Thanksgiving? How do we get back to the basics of being thankful for the simple joys of life, food to eat, clothes to wear?
Today I'm especially thinking of memories of a praying mother and a mother-in-law who taught me their ways of being grateful for family. Though it is the week of Thanksgiving, every day is a time to be thankful.
I'd love to hear your comments of Thanksgiving memories.

I know what you mean. Seems we don't get to enjoy Thanksgiving much b/c we are worried about shopping and decorating for Christmas. But I do enjoy pulling my Christmas decor out the day after Thanksgiving while the family is all there to help put the tree up. It's the highlight for the kids.

I love the pinecone topiary just below this post, those look great. Last year I got rid of a whole bag of pinecones and I won't be able to replenish it because pine trees don't grow well here.

I gave one of the pinecone topiaries to the hostess of our Thanksgiving dinner as a thank-you and also as an early Christmas gift for her. She loves handmade things, and it was the prettiest of all the topiaries.
