Vintage Bible

During the Christmas holidays I went to an antique store that I always enjoying browsing at. I went to get a mirror out of layaway. On my browsing tour I noticed this Bible. Seeing how aged it looked, I checked for the price. FREE! Grabbing it, I took it to the counter. There's something wonderful about finding an old Bible that someone else loved and read. Personally, I love to read through old Bibles that have scriptures underlined and highlighted. People are different. Some never write or mark in their Bibles. I like to highlight scriptures in mine. If you're like me, you forget where some verses are found. So it makes it easier to find those encouraging verses of scripture if you highlight them. The vintage Bible I found at the antique store now has a new home.

I love old books. Well...I love books, period. But, especially old ones. Your Bible is lovely. I can't believe it was free! What a find! Happy New Year!

Love this old bible. Can't believe it was free. Don't you just love to imagine someone curled up reading a scripture that possible helped thm that day. I too am an underliner of scriptures. Wonderful words to pattern your life after.

Love old Bibles too. I just posted a blog and show a display of Bibles. Salvation Army always has a table of FREE Bibles and if they are really worn, I will take one, otherwise leave the nice looking ones for others. Blessings in 2012.

Oh how cool! I love that it was free too.
It irks me to no end to see people selling used Bibles. It's bad enough the price of new ones at Christian book stores. But I think if someone is going to put Bibles out that are used...they should be given. Just my own pet peave. ...I must say at this point, I've bought nice Bibles for really cheap like $1 or less at garage sales and such.

I like the look of yours and I'm like you ---high lighter is a great tool for reading and studying the Word.

blessings and happy new year!

I started to say what a steal! But I guess that wouldn't be the right words for a Bible. lol I love old worn ones too. The pages turn so much easier. There's nothing like the feel of those worn pages. I imagine our grandmother's Bible with all the underlined scriptures and side notes.
